Room Control

SIMPLE AND INTUITIVE CONTROL

A room control system defines how different technologies are coordinated into a single, predictable interface within a space. With both Smart Home Integration and Home Cinema Systems, control logic determines how the system behaves, rather than the number of devices in use.

A variety of control system options are available to consolidate multiple remotes into a single handheld device or interface.  Voice control can also be introduced through integration with Google Home or Amazon Echo, extending how the system is accessed without changing the underlying system behaviour.

Modus Cinemas form part of the Modus Vivendi group, an authorised Control4 and Crestron dealer operating across London and the South East. Systems are designed, delivered, and maintained with a focus on long-term reliability and ease of use, ensuring control remains consistent over time.

Handset Room Control

Control interfaces must match how the room is used. A tactile handheld remote provides a direct and consistent way to operate the system, supported by a charging dock for daily use. The Control4 and Crestron handset operate alongside the mobile app, allowing multiple forms of operation without duplicating system complexity.

Smart Home Automation

Room control becomes more critical when systems extend beyond a single space. As part of a wider Lighting & Shading, Wi-Fi & Networking, or Security Systems, control logic coordinates how different environments operate together as one system.

Modus Vivendi support the expansion of room-based control into full-property coordination. This may include multi-room audio distribution, integrated security, or lighting and shading strategies aligned with the architectural design. System infrastructure is typically centralised within dedicated rack locations, allowing technology to remain hidden while maintaining serviceability and long-term flexibility.

Design decisions at this stage define how the system performs over time. Early coordination ensures that each element operates as part of a unified environment, rather than as separate technologies.

Crestron Home and Control4 use a pre-configured platform built on established hardware architecture, reducing the need for extensive custom programming while maintaining system stability. This ensures that system behaviour remains predictable, even as complexity increases.
