Our Client
Canterbury is a long-term family residence where whole-home control and cinema systems needed to remain reliable, practical and easy to manage over many years. The project required a dependable technology environment that could support entertainment, comfort, security and day-to-day control across the property, not only at handover but over the life of the home.
The client appointed Modus Vivendi to provide and support an integrated system across whole-home control and cinema. The priority was to protect the value of the original installation while ensuring the technology continued to serve the home as the family’s needs evolved.
The Brief
The brief was to unify multiple parts of the home through a single control platform, including home cinema, audio and video distribution, lighting, motorised shading, heating, gate entry, CCTV, and Wi-Fi. Just as importantly, the system needed to protect design integrity while supporting a lifestyle that would remain practical and enjoyable for years after installation.
Our Solution
Modus Vivendi designed and delivered a whole-house Crestron system that brought together the residence’s key technologies into one coherent control experience. Home cinema, distributed audio and video, lighting, shading, heating, gate entry, CCTV, and wider connectivity were all resolved as part of a coordinated integration strategy, allowing the property to operate with greater clarity and consistency in daily use.
Leading brands were specified throughout to protect both performance and design integrity, including Artcoustic, Bowers & Wilkins, Crestron, Future Automation, Screen Research, Denon, and Runco. Installed in 2010, the system remains in daily use today and continues to be maintained by Modus Vivendi to its original standards. The result is a residence that demonstrates how true integration creates long-term value, turning technology into part of a way of living rather than a short-term project.
