Our Client
Horsham is a substantial new-build family residence, understood to be approximately 15,000 sq ft, designed around family living, entertainment and leisure. In a home of this scale, technology needed to support daily life, comfort and control without competing with the design of the property itself.
The client appointed Modus Vivendi to provide a discreet, reliable and intuitive system across comfort, security, media and home cinema. With a basement entertainment complex, garage, gym and games areas, the priority was to restore clarity to a complex residential environment and ensure the technology enhanced the home without adding visual noise or unnecessary complexity.
The Brief
The project needed to be stabilised late in the build, with the property nearing completion and key technology decisions still unresolved. The client required Modus Vivendi to restore technical clarity across the wider home, coordinate the smart home direction, and bring the system design back into a dependable path before handover.
A key part of the brief was to deliver a dedicated home cinema within the basement entertainment complex, while ensuring the wider home integration remained reliable and intuitive. Timing, supply risk during the first COVID lockdown, and the need for dependable whole-home control all required careful management.
Our Solution
Modus Vivendi restructured the system strategy around a Crestron Home platform, allowing the wider property, security, lighting, climate control, and entertainment spaces to be resolved as one coherent environment. Detailed supplier coordination protected programme timing, secured key equipment during lockdown disruption, and kept the project moving at a stage where delay would have carried obvious cost and frustration.
Within the basement level, the home cinema was delivered as part of a much broader leisure setting that also included a garage, gym, and games areas. Bespoke equipment storage supported the wider smart home infrastructure, while the cinema itself was designed around immersive performance, tiered seating, and long-term family use. The result restored confidence as well as control.
