Our Client
Sevenoaks III is a substantial private residence where technology needed to support everyday family living, media use and long-term whole-home control. Rather than treating the system as a one-off installation, the project required a considered approach that could accommodate the client’s existing needs while allowing the home to evolve over time.
The client appointed Modus Vivendi to provide a discreet, reliable and intuitive system across control, media, lighting and wider home technology. The priority was to provide continuity, improve everyday usability and support future upgrades without adding unnecessary complexity to the way the home was lived in.
The Brief
The original brief called for a fully integrated home environment, including property-wide audio and video distribution, CCTV, structured Wi-Fi & networking, aerial and satellite distribution, equipment racking, telephone integration, and a multi-purpose media room that could deliver a convincing cinematic experience without taking over the living space. The later phase focused on upgrading the lighting and shading layer, introducing more precise scene control, motorised shade coordination, occupancy sensing, and a higher standard of tactile control throughout the house.
Our Solution
Modus Vivendi approached Sevenoaks III as a coordinated smart home rather than a set of separate systems. The original installation created the core technical backbone for whole-home audio and video distribution, Wi-Fi and networking, Control4 room control, CCTV, satellite and television distribution, centralised equipment and a dedicated media space.
A later Crestron phase refined the property further through upgraded lighting and shading control, including keypads, touchscreens, remotes, sensors and centralised processing. Together, these elements created a more unified home environment where lighting, shading, media and wider control could work more intuitively in daily use.
