Our Client
The client had recently moved up to a larger family home and was introduced to Modus Vivendi through an electrical consultant we had worked with on previous projects. They were also considering another supplier, so clarity, confidence, and a well-judged overall direction mattered from the outset.
The Brief
The project needed to bring together several strands of work at once: a new basement cinema, audio-visual distribution throughout the property, lighting control, and full integration with simple day-to-day operation. The challenge was to shape these elements into one coherent scheme rather than a collection of separate systems.
Our Solution
We began by taking the client to our Chelmsford facility, which helped clarify both the cinema brief and the wider integration requirements before a final proposal was developed. After presenting our recommendations, we were appointed to deliver the work across the house.
For the basement, we designed the cinema as a more relaxed family environment, including structural changes to position the projector in a smaller room behind the main space and free up more usable seating area. The client chose a corner sofa instead of formal cinema seating, giving the room a softer, more informal character. Across the rest of the home, lighting, audio-visual distribution, and wired and wireless Wi-Fi were integrated into a single Control4 system for clearer everyday control.
