Our Client
Walton-on-Thames II is a substantial private country residence set within approximately 3.5 acres of landscaped grounds, shaped around generous family living, entertaining and leisure. With large reception spaces, mature gardens and an indoor pool, the home required technology that could support a resolved residential environment without competing with the character of the property itself.
The client appointed Modus Vivendi to provide a discreet, reliable and intuitive system across comfort, security, control and media. The priority was to ensure that technology enhanced everyday use while remaining integrated within the design, without adding unnecessary complexity.
The Brief
The property required multiple systems, including lighting, heating, security, audio distribution, video distribution and network infrastructure, to operate through one coherent control environment. In homes of this size, individual technologies can perform well in isolation yet still create a fragmented overall experience when they are not properly aligned.
The brief was to establish a unified control strategy that would allow the house to function consistently across its various spaces, while preserving the integrity of the interior design and supporting long-term reliability.
Our Solution
Modus Vivendi delivered a fully integrated system structured around a single Control4 platform, aligning all key services into one coherent control environment.
Lighting, comfort, security, and media were coordinated through shared system logic, ensuring the home responds consistently rather than operating as separate layers of technology. This allows interactions to remain clear and predictable across all spaces.
A centralised head-end system was implemented to manage infrastructure discreetly, supporting reliable distribution while maintaining the clean visual language of the interiors.
The result is a home where technology remains largely unseen, supporting day-to-day living through a system that is stable, intuitive, and resolved as a whole.
